The Association

A structure serving the project

The Ballon des Ambassadors Association was created to give the project an independent, transparent, and lasting legal structure.

Established as an association under articles 60 et seq. of the Swiss Civil Code, it pursues a non-profit purpose in the public interest.

Its mission includes:

• acquiring and holding the Ballon des Ambassadors envelope;
• making it available to the Ambassador Clubs that are owner members;
• enabling the use of the balloon as a promotional platform at public events connected to the goals and values of the Ambassador Clubs, in particular their mission as “Ambassadors of humanist values”;
• concluding the agreements necessary for the balloon’s operation, notably with the Ballon de la Gruyère association.

The Ballon des Ambassadors Association brings together the Ambassador Clubs that wish to take part directly in the project as owner members, as well as the members of the Ambassador Clubs who wish to personally support it as passive members.

The Committee

The association is administered by a Committee that oversees its management, implements the decisions of the General Assembly, and represents the association to its members and partners.

The association is validly bound by the joint signature of two Committee members.

The Statutes

The statutes define, in particular:

• the purposes of the association;
• the categories of members and their rights;
• the powers of the General Assembly and the Committee;
• the funding arrangements;
• the contractual relationships necessary for the balloon’s operation;
• the rules regarding liability and the dissolution of the association.

They form the legal and organizational framework of the project.
